Hosting Guide

What is web hosting? Why should you be a web host? What do you need to be a web host? What different types of web hosting are there? All of these questions can overwhelm the erstwhile beginner. Some will stumble over these terms, and others will flat-out give up...

The Web Hosting Company Breakup Guide

Leaving your Web hosting company can be a lot like leaving a romantic relationship. Feelings may have been hurt. Things might get messy in the process. In the end, you’ll find yourself a new partner. So let’s look at the anything-but-fun process of switching Web hosting companies in the terms of a relationship breakup. Sometimes all it takes is a fresh perspective to make a painful process a little bit easier.

Here is a step-by-step process for “breaking up” with your current Web hosting company:

Step 1: Talk it over and try to work things out.

Before you make a rash decision and subject yourself to the stress of starting over with a new Web hosting company, see if you can work out your problems with your current company. Perhaps there was a simple misunderstanding and you can work things out and they’ll be able to solve your problem and make it up to you. Even if you can’t, at least you’ll always know that you tried.

Step 2: Start checking out the competition.

Once you’re absolutely sure that it’s time to move on to a new Web hosting partner because your current one just isn’t meeting your needs, it’s okay to start looking around. In fact, it’s encouraged. Don’t spring the breakup on your current company just yet. Use this time to keep an eye out for better offers. You’ll make the breakup much easier if you don’t rush into it too quickly.

Step 3: Pack your things.

Why shouldn’t you rush in too quickly? Because your Web hosting company might just cut you off. If they do, you might just lose your possessions in the process. How can you avoid that? While you’re keeping your eye out for better offers, “pack” your things. Make backups. Casually move all of your important files and databases into local copies. This way you won’t lose anything vital to your business or website when the current host cuts off your access.

Step 4: Choose a new partner.

You’ve been looking at other options. Now that you have all of your possessions packed and ready to go, it’s time to choose a new partner and prepare for the move. How you choose your new partner isn’t important (personal referrals, Web hosting reviews, etc.). What’s important is that you don’t make the same mistake you made the first time. That pretty little deal that lured you to the first relationship didn’t work out so well, did it? This time you need to pick a hosting company that’s ready for a serious, long-term commitment.

moving

Step 5: Move out.

You know where you’re going. You have your bags packed. It’s time to make the move. Once you’ve begun your new Web hosting relationship, start moving your files to their new home. Getting settled in before completely leaving your last Web hosting company will make the transition much easier on you.

Step 6: Cut off all ties (especially financial ones).

As soon as your site files and other data are safely on your new host’s servers, it’s time to say “goodbye” to the hosting partner you’re leaving. Remove your data from their servers. Stop any subscription payments. Give them a call and tell them it just wasn’t meant to be and you want them to cancel your account so you can move on with your life (and business).

Try not to be too harsh towards your former Web hosting company. After all, we all make mistakes. That said, go ahead and tell them exactly why you’re leaving. Even though they weren’t the right partner for you, they might be perfect for someone else. Let them know what they need to change, fix, or improve so they can learn and grow and become a better Web hosting company.

Best of luck in your new Web hosting relationship — here’s hoping it lasts forever!

Shoes

What's in, what's out

Sneakers are out of fashion. So are shoelaces. Polka dots and animal prints are this season's rage. Structured shoes with the Peter Pan look of early '50's is also popular. Italian heels are always popular as they blend in with both salwar kameez and western wear.

Slip-ons are all time favourites and comfortable for the feet. Stiletto boots with velvet lining are a rage in the North of India and Bangalore but have not gained much popularity in trendy Kochi. Retro pumps and kitten heels in denim embellished sequins and beads are also popular. So folks What's wrong with that? If it is alright to have many clothes, why not shoes, why the hypocrisy?"

Cute 2011 Winter Haircuts: Pixie Haircut

The pixie haircut is not only bold, but many girls can pull it off with minimal effort. The question is—what do you need to know about a pixie cut?

Agyness Deyn Pixie Cut for 2011

First of all, pixie haircuts require a lot of styling. This may means using a volumizing shampoo or a little bit of mousse to help. Blowdrying your hair may also be needed to help add a bit of volume.

Next, if you don’t like the haircut, you have a while to get it back to where it was. It’s better to seriously think about the cut before you run off to the stylist to get a better idea of whether you REALLY want to get the haircut. If you are looking for something a bit liberating, however, the pixie cut could be THE hairstyle for you.

Keri Hilson Pixie Haircut

Find a few pictures of pixie cuts. This gives you a much better idea of whether or not the cut will suit you and also gives your stylist a better idea of how to cut the look. Some more experienced stylists can tailor a pixie cut to suit your facial shape and make it look ten times as fabulous.

However, there are a few considerations to make when it comes to a pixie cut:

If you are getting your hair cut during the winter, keep in mind that you may not be as warm as you were when you had longer locks. The solution? Make sure that you have a nice hat and a pair of earmuffs ready.

Also remember that pixie haircuts can have two effects—make you look younger or more mature. It is up to you which.

Winter Hair Care

Winter Hair Care

Winter 2008-2009 is here once again, and this season can be harsh on your hair. A lot of people find their hair suffer during the winter months. And the usual winter-associated hair problems include dryness, dullness and weakness. Below are some tips to ensure that your hair stays healthy during winter.

Avoid frequent shampooing
Applying shampoo too often on your hair during winter can be damaging. You ought to remember that your hair and scalp are both prone to dryness in cold season. It is advisable that you shampoo only once a day.
Choose the right hair products for your hair type
The health of your hair depends mostly on the type of hair products you use on it. To ensure that you only use what’s right for your hair, seek the advice of your hairstylist or other beauty experts.

Fight static effectively
Statics can be dealt with easily and efficiently by doing this simple step. After styling your hair, brush through your hair from top to bottom, with a hairbrush sprayed with a small amount of hair spray.

Avoid frequent use of hairdryer
Drying your hair frequently with a hairdryer can dry and damage your hair. Whenever possible, avoid blow drying your hair. If you need to use a hairdryer, set it to cool to prevent it from over drying your hair. Although this method may take a little longer to dry your hair, it will also be less damaging to your hair.

Treat dry and brittle hair
Apply a leave-on conditioner to deal with dry, brittle hair. This method is effective in enhancing your hair’s moisture and strength.

How to Protect Your Skin During The Winter Months

Winter time is one of the harshest seasons for one's skin; especially the face. Like many of you, my skin is driest during the winter months. After winterizing our grass months ago, I thought it would be great to be able to do the same for the skin. Clearly our skin requires a little more time and care; it is the largest organ of the body. Nonetheless, it's important to winterize your skin the way your do your grass, your home or your car

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • moisturizer
  • humidifier
  • time
  1. The obvious place to start is with a moisturizer. Moisturize your skin in the morning and also at night. Every time you wash your hands; moisturize. However, it is important to make sure that they include mineral oil and glycerin. Oatmeal based moisturizes and lotions work great for the hands and body. However, if there are no proven results, see a dermatologist.

  2. Most of us tend to experience some degree of dehydration or dryness in our skin due to the increase heat content in our home. Therefore it is not only important to drink lots of water, but to also increase the humidity within the home. When the air is deprived of moisture, it can be very unhealthy for our immune system.

  3. Additionally, working out is always good for the skin, because of increased blood circulation.

  4. Hot showers are great, however not so good for your skin. Hot water will once again, dry the skin. Therefore, take warm showers, and pat skin dry with a towel instead of wiping dry. Also replace or lock moisture in with a moisturizer or petroleum based Vaseline immediately after showering.

Winter Facial Skin Care Tips

Winter is here and the frost is not only nipping at your nose but the whole face. Fortunately, with a facial skin care routine that meets your exact skin care needs you can be on your way to healthy, radiant skin tone.

YOUR SKIN IS DRY OR SENSITIVE IF IT:

o Stings or burns when skin-care products are used

o Is easily irritated

o Sometimes appears red and inflamed

o Feels itchy, dry, rough and flaky

Facial skin care for dry skin:

Regular bath soaps clean well but are powerfully alkaline and irritating for both dry and sensitive skin. Clear soaps containing glycerin and alcohol may also be too drying. So, as an alternative of soap, dermatologists suggest a soap-free, sensitive skin cleansers. If your skin is very dry or sensitive, you may need to alternate a washable lotion with a sensitive-skin bar. After cleansing dry skin, apply a moisturizer that is light, hypoallergenic, preservative-free, all-purpose and water based. For extremely dry skin, moisturize with petroleum jelly or an oil-based lotion with 20 percent urea. After cleansing sensitive skin, apply a light, hypoallergenic, fragrance-free moisturizer, like Eucerin. To check your tolerance of the product, dab the moisturizer behind your ears for the first few days.

YOUR SKIN IS NORMAL IF IT:

o Is usually smooth and supple

o Is generally clear/blemish-free

o Appears neither dry nor oily

Facial skin care for normal skin:

You're one of those lucky people whose face can take some abuse and still bounce back, looking fresher than ever. Almost any cleanser (from regular bath soap to sensitive-skin bars) will work for you. If you need a moisturizer -- some people with normal skin don't! -- choose a light, hypoallergenic, preservative free, all-purpose, water-based moisturizer after washing.

YOUR SKIN IS OILY IF IT:

o Has enlarged pores or blackheads

o Appears shiny and feels greasy

Facial skin care for oily skin:

Regular bath soap, morning and night, is fine for cleansing -- your skin actually benefits from the drying effect of strongly alkaline bath soaps. If necessary, use an astringent pad at midday. Because your skin is naturally oily, you may not need
a moisturizer. But if you do, choose one that's noncomedogenic (won't cause acne) and either oil-free or water-based --Neutrogena or Aveeno, for example.

YOUR SKIN IS COMBINATION IF IT:

o Is oily on your forehead, nose or chin

o Is dry on your cheeks and around your eyes

Facial skin care for combination skin:

Dermatologists recommend one of two cleansing routines for women with combination skin. You can wash with a gentle facial cleanser in the morning and use an alcohol-free astringent on oily areas later in the day. Or wash with a soap-free cleanser on dry areas and with regular bath soap on oily areas. Treat dry patches as dry skin, then apply a water-based or oil-free noncomedogenic moisturizer to your entire face.

Skin care tips for every type of skin:

No matter how oily, dry or sensitive your skin, always clean gently. Use warm (not hot) water and your fingertips (not a wash cloth). Rinse well. Then use a towel to pat (not rub) your face dry. Wash your face no more than once or twice a day. After patting skin dry, apply moisturizer to skin while it's still damp to ensure that it is absorbed. Unless your moisturizer provides protection from damaging sun rays, consider applying a light sunscreen as well.

Winter Lip Care

The advent of winter brings about a lot of change in nature-frigid air, snowflakes and gloomy skies. Just like our skin gets dehydrated and wrinkled in winter so does our lips. With the harsh winter weather outdoors and high central heating indoors, even the softest of lips can soon dry out. Winter lip care is a must in an overall lip care regime. Harsh weather, wind, and cold turn the soft lips into chapped lips that not only are visually unappealing, but very painful in some cases. Here are a few more tips to keep your lips nourished and healthy during the winter.
  1. The skin on lips lack oil glands hence they tend to get dry and cracked easily. You have to take special care of your lips to maintain its requisite moisture level.

  2. Massaging lips with ghee (clarified butter) and leaving a thin layer of it on lips overnight acts as a natural protection for lips.

  3. Keep them covered with a good lip balm applied several times during the day. Lip balms are now commonly available with an SPF factor as well to protect them from the harmful rays. Make sure the lip balm contains SPF 15 or 20. Other ingredients to look out for while buying a lip balm or chap stick are vitamin E and Shea butter.

  4. Avoid licking your lips and don't bite the skin on the surface of your lips. The skin will never have a chance to heal if you chew on it. This is a hard habit to break but well worth the effort. It also darken the skin around the mouth.

  5. Cracked lips could be a sign that your diet is low in B vitamins. The best sources of vitamin B are meat products, yeast, asparagus, broccoli, spinach, bananas, potatoes, milk, eggs, cheese, yoghurt, nuts, pulses, fish, wholegrain cereals, brown rice, apricots and figs, so it shouldn't be hard to top up your vitamin B if required.

  6. Massaging lips with ghee (clarified butter) and leaving a thin layer of it on lips overnight acts as a natural protection for lips.

  7. The chapped lips when rubbed with a matt lipstick, take in a mass of the lipstick. This also ruins the tip of the lipstick with scratchy lines. The lipstick is left uneven and the gloss on it makes the cracked lips very prominent. This constant action of applying lipstick and then the gloss sometimes causes the dried and delicate skin of the lip to peel off.

  8. Dip a black tea bag in warm water and press it on lips for three to four minutes. This increases moisture level on skin of lips.

  9. Drinking water isn't just for the summer months. Everyone feels like drinking hot drinks in winter. Even though it feels unnatural, make sure you keep drinking water so you're hydrated on the inside, making your skin and lips better on the outside - about 8 cups a day is ideal.

  10. To relax the lip, mash a quarter of ripe papaya to a juicy paste. Then, lie down on a towel and apply a generous amount to the lips and the skin around the lips. Leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes, rinse it off and apply lip balm. Papaya contains exfoliating enzymes and can help to soften and refine lip lines.

Winter care you just can’t resist

With cozy nights and sunny days, some by products that the winter-chill gets along is the myriad skin and hair problems The problems get compounded by endless partying and late nights, which are the norm in the festive season and in turn take a toll on the skin.

It is important therefore to know what’s right for your skin, hair, and body. Read on for some expert advice on how to take care of yourself this winter…
Glowing Touch For The Skin

A dehydrated and dry skin is a common complaint in winter. The problem could lie in use of a wrong moisturiser or not drinking enough water. According to experts, it is important to maintain the water balance in our bodies in winter.

Moisturiser : Given the lifestyle that most of us follow, it is important to frequently moisturise the face with serum-based oil especially at night. Most women tend to wipe off the moisturiser before sleeping but our experts advise you to keep it on and even if it is in excess, it would automatically get absorbed by the skin.

Water intake : While most of us are thankful that we don’t have to battle with sweat in winters, we also end up drinking less water in this season. However experts advise you to increase your water intake as this helps to retain moisture in the body, prevent dehydration and keep the skin hydrated.

Wash it off : When it comes to washing or cleansing your face, a lot depends on the skin type. Contrary to popular belief, using a face wash does not dry the skin. However, experts prefer cleansing milk over face wash because it goes a little deeper. They also recommend using a face mask at least once a week, especially a mud mask. An important piece of advice that most of us ignore: wash off your make-up before you go to sleep as it cleans your skin pores and makes you feel fresh the next morning.

Get The Right Make-Up

One of the pleasures of winter is being able to apply make-up without the fear of it being ruined by sweat or rain. However, that’s precisely why you need to take extra care when applying make-up in this season.

Lucky lips : Lips need proper nourishment like the rest of the body else you’ll end up with dry and chapped lips that are quite a sore sight. Gloss is passé and for the coming season, experts suggest using matt shades.

Expert tip : Matt colours like orange and pink are quite in vogue and they only appear to be dry but they are not so.

Eye make-up : The eyes are one of the most precious parts of your face and are the ‘window to your soul’. With the right eye make-up, you can let your eyes speak for you. Simple and pastel shades are in vogue this season; neutrals and skin tones like browns and pale pink look good during daytime and for the evening, dark shades like plum and charcoal grey are the best.

Expert tip : Don’t use too dark tones for the winters because we usually wear dark clothes and similar eye make-up would spoil the whole look.

Mascara/kajal/eye-liner : Mascara or kajal or eye-liner is a must-have for a woman’s make-up kit. With water proof kajal and eye-liner and quality mascara readily available in market, it’s quite easy to pick up one that suits you. Colours this season? Coloured eye-liners are passé and the natural look is in vogue again.

Expert tip : Kajal often spreads so it is better to use mascara and while applying it cover the lower lashes also.

Blush on : To shade or highlight your cheekbones use metallic shades as they are pretty popular this season. According to experts, metallic shades complement the kind of jewelry most Indian women like to wear. Bid adieu to glitters; shades like copper and silver are hip. If you are using a cream based product, apply it evenly with your fingers and in case it is powder based blush, then a good brush would do.

Expert tip : It’s not always hygiene to use fingers and finishing is any time better with a brush. Also, don’t over apply anything in a bid to match the make-up with the kind of clothes you wear.

For Those Silken Tresses

Come winter and your hair begins its battle with dandruff, dry and itchy scalp and coarse hair. Here are our experts to the rescue…

Shampooing and conditioning : There are countless myths attached to hair washing and conditioning and women today find it tough to understand what’s good for their hair. Shampoo, we are well aware by now, should be gentle and should be one that matches your lifestyle. For those who use olive oil, which is heavy, do not overdo the shampoo. Use coconut oil instead which washes off easily. About the frequency of washing hair, thrice a week is perfectly fine.

Once you have shampooed, you need to condition, which experts say has to be done on a regular basis, as it is quite nutritional and makes hair healthy. According to experts, ‘henna’ cannot be recommended as a conditioner, while egg and curd is always a good combination.

Expert tip : It is a terrible idea to use soap on hair and people often mistake dandruff with soap excesses left after hair wash. So in winters, make sure that it gets rubbed off completely with mild warm water.

Dry it up : After shampoo and conditioner, drying up the hair is not as easy task as many might think it to be. Improper usage of a hair dryer can result in damaging it in the long run where hair can become brittle and would start breaking easily. Experts do not favour using a hair dryer in winters because hair is already dry in the season. But if it must be used, it should be kept six to eight inches away from the hair and you should strictly avoid touching the scalp with it. Also, use a wide-toothed comb for your tresses.

Expert tip : Using a dryer on hair is just like ironing your clothes, so no dryer should be kept at one portion of the hair for more than three to four seconds.

Hair styling : Once the hair is in place after a gentle wash and drying up, it’s important to give it proper styling. During winters hair should be static and too much layering should be avoided. Though it’s correct to say that there cannot really be one style for all times and occasions, but any hair style if it works for you and suits you is trendy. For the daytime tied up hair looks good. Those with long hair can pull them back and tie it in a pony, as it accentuates the look of the face. Experts strictly oppose keeping unkempt and messy hair during winters. However they believe that a high bun should not be too neat either. Furthermore, various brushes can be used to give different looks like bounce, straight, or curls.

Tips for Winter Skin Care

Winter can be one of the worst times of the year to take care of your skin. Your skin either gets extremely dry or a combination of all of the above. When the weather changes, so should your skin care treatments. Your skin is slowly adapting to the environmental changes around it, but once your skin has fully adapted it is time for it to change yet once again, so your skin never really settles down during the winter. Your skin gets dry in low humidity which is what the winter brings along with it. In low humidity your skin gets dehydrated and fragile. This is where moisturizer comes into play. The more the better!

Moisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize

Moisturizing is about the only thing you can do to treat dry skin in the winter. Taking a hot bath and lathering on the moisturizing crème is an easy and quick start to healing and preparing your skin for the cold elements that it will face for the day. After taking a shower apply baby oil to your skin. This will help to keep the moisture in and the dryness out.

Some of the best types of moisturizer for winter weather are ones that contain oils in them, just because your body isn’t producing the oils needed to have hydrated skin. Lanolin, vitamin E oils, and avocado oils are perfect for absorbing moisture and retaining it in the skin. Protein from milk is a great way to soften skin that is dry or wrinkled. Honey is also a great moisturizer that is all natural.

Exfoliating the Dryness Away

Finding a good exfoliating regime is one of the first things besides the moisturizer to seek out. With your skin drying out constantly, exfoliating it is a good way to keep your skin looking great. You should exfoliate your skin at least two times a week to keep the flaky dry skin away. Your skin diminishes it oil production in the winter which in turn causes the dry skin. This is due to the low temperatures outside and the heat from inside which removes most of the moisture from your skin.

The Importance of Water

Water is important no matter what time of year it is, but it is extremely important in the winter. You should drink at least eight glasses of water a day to replenish the water lost from the winter air taking it out of your skin. There is one ancient Chinese remedy that is a safe method give your body a boost of energy. This includes warm water mixed with lemon. This concoction detoxifies the body of toxins and removes those that cause your skin to be dry.

A good night’s sleep is also a good step to take. While you sleep at night, your body is replenishing itself and preparing itself for the oncoming day ahead whether it be hot or cold. If you aren’t getting enough sleep at night, your body as well as your skin will not be health and glowing.

Eating the Right Foods

In the winter time we regularly eat a lot more than we do in any other season. This is good as long as we are eating the right foods. Eating foods rich in protein, vitamin A, B1, and B2 is a great way to improve your skins healthiness. By consuming these types of foods, you can help your skin build up a defense against the elements along with your regular skin care regiment. In winter time, your skin needs all the help it can get. Foods that are full of antioxidants help your skin to fight off inflammation and protect the cells of the membranes from being destroyed by the elements. Drinking green tea or eating foods with omega 3 are other great ways to help. These are rich with antioxidants. Taking a multi-vitamin is also a great way to help your skin along.

Reducing Retail Business Expense

Do you have a way to reduce expenses? At the end of this article, you can share your ways to cut costs with others.

There may come a time when a retailer is faced with the need to cut expenses. It could be a slump in the economy or the threat of a new competitor. Or it may simply be the desire to control those ever-expanding monthly operating expenditures.

Whatever the reason, there are areas in spending in which retailers can reduce without compromising customer service or quality. If your store is experiencing a cash crunch, consider the following ways to cut retail business expenses.

Begin looking at the store's budget to find areas that can be cut out completely or considerably trimmed back. List every expense the business incurs, all the way down to cash register paper, and then determine where the shop can save money.

Buying in bulk, buying used and comparison shopping are all options for saving money. Every bit adds up. Keep in mind that many business expenses can be negotiated for better rates or terms. With a little planning and some research, retailers may find better services for less.

Areas to Reduce Expenses

Instead of trimming costs here and there, what if your retail business really needs to slash expenses? Before you go hacking necessary sales tools, like advertising and staffing, consider cutting completely any item that is not required to stay in business. Be careful, the idea is to cut any unnecessary expenses, not sacrifice efficiency or professionalism.

Items Your Business May Survive Without

  • Cell phones
  • Donations
  • Magazine subscriptions
  • Trade organizations
  • Professional dues
  • Landscaping
  • Janitorial service
Plan ahead, create a realistic budget and get the entire staff involved. Employees are more willing to help store owners control expenses when they understand the next cut could be their own job.

Building Business or Trade Credit

One of the best tools for delaying cash outflow of any cash-strapped, or new, retail business is the trade credit available from suppliers. Trade credit is one part of the process to build business credit. It is an open account with a vendor who lets a retailer buy now and pay later.
Many suppliers may require the first order to be paid by credit card or C.O.D. (cash/check on delivery) until the business has been deemed credit worthy. Once it is established that a business can pay its bills on time, it is possible to negotiate trade credit and terms with suppliers.

Types of Trade Terms

Two of the most common types of trade credit terms are the Net 30 and Net 10 accounts. These net terms specify payment is expected to be made in full 30(net 30) or 10(net 10) days after the goods are delivered to the retailer.
Some vendors offer cash discounts and the retailer may notice the notation "1/10, Net 30" on their invoice. This refers to a 1% discount to the retailer if payment is received within 10 days of the delivery of goods, and full payment is expected within 30 days.
If an invoice is $5000 and "1/10 Net 30" is noted, the retailer can take a 1% discount ($5000 x .01 = $50) and make a payment of $4950 within 10 days.

Credit Application

New customers to a supplier may need to fill out a credit application and provide some other financial information about the business. Other items found on a credit application could include:
  • Company name, address, contact information
  • Business structure: corporate, partnership, sole proprietor, etc.
  • Terms requested
  • Sales tax Number
  • Tax EIN
  • DUNS Number
  • Years in business
  • Annual revenue
  • Bank information
  • Credit card number
  • Trade references of other suppliers
  • Signature of an authorized officer
For existing customers of the supplier, the credit decision is generally based on past payment history. This is why it is so important to maintain a prompt and dependable payment relationship with all vendors.

It Can't Hurt To Ask

Fledgling businesses may want to introduce themselves and their business directly to either the business owner or the credit department manager of the supplier they would like to do business with. Offer to show the decision maker your business plan and explain that you need your first order on credit in order to launch your retail business. The vendor may have terms available to new businesses.
The idea behind trade credit is to have your goods shipped to your retail business, and sell them before you have to pay for them. There are other ways to finance your inventory, but most include having to pay interest on a loan. This is why trade credit is key in reducing the amount of working capital needed.

Cost of Trade Credit

As a retailer, you should always be on the lookout for suppliers who offer not only the lowest prices, but fast, dependable delivery. Try not to become too committed to one vendor because they offer credit terms to your business. Trade credit is best used as a short-term solution for managing cash flow and shouldn't be used long-term.
If using trade credit for an extended period, plan to avoid unnecessary costs through forfeiture of cash discounts or delinquency penalties. Late payment penalties can run between 1 to 2% on a monthly basis. This means that missing the net payment date for an entire year can cost as much as 12 to 24 percent in penalty interest.
Trade credit creates additional cash resources by delaying cash outflows that would otherwise occur at the time of purchase. For this reason, taking full advantage of trade credit for purchasing inventory is an important step in managing payables and improving cash flow.

Great Stock Trading Software

Stock Trading Software is a tool every trader must have in their tool box. I am not talking about the kind of software that flashes pretty lights that tell you when to buy or when to sell. Please do not go out and spend thousands of dollars for some software that is going to give you stock picks this way. You will have much better results by just reading a few books.

The trading software I'm talking about is technical analysis, or a charting software. It is a stock trading tool you should not be without. If you are investing in the stock market with out looking at charts you are throwing your money down the drain. Even the great traders in the past (before computers) used them. They had the ability to see it in their minds.

Technical Analysis is the forecasting of future financial price movements based on an examination of past price movements. On any given day, week, or month there is a finite number of traders in the markets. Many of these stock traders do the same things over and over. People develop behavior patterns, and a group of people, interacting with one another on a consistent basis, form collective behavior patterns. Human nature is the same today as it was 2000 years ago. These behavior patterns are observable and they repeat themselves with statistical reliability.

Fundamental analysis is just as important. If a company is losing money year after year their is no way people will invest in them and the price of the stock will go down. Combining technical and fundamental analysis you have the greatest potential for making money in the stock market.

How are we going to find these stocks? Thanks to computers we can scan the entire universe of stocks in seconds. With the best Stock Trading Software you just put in the information that you are looking for and with a click of the mouse you have your results in just seconds.

Online Stock Trading

Online Stock Trading is becoming the most popular way to trade stocks because of computers. No longer do we have to call a broker and pay high commissions to buy or sell a stock. With just a few clicks of the mouse we are in total control of our investments. With online brokerages competing for your business, commission prices are at levels that are easily affordable. Access to information, known only to stockbrokers a few years ago, is now at our finger tips.

Depending on what type of trader you are, there is trading software and execution systems that can shoot your orders to "the floor" in seconds. We can log on to the internet, read the news of a stock we are interested in, look at it's chart, go back to our online trading platform, click a button, and buy a stock.

Here is a small sample of online brokers.

  • Scottrade

  • Ameritrade

  • E Trade

  • Schwab

Which one is the best to use? That all depends on what type of trader you are. If you are a swing trader or someone who buys and holds a stock for some time, a company like Scottrade would be good for you. If you are day trading stocks online, then you are going to want someone who offers direct access in order to get the best price possible.

With buying and selling stocks being so easy comes the allure of getting rich quick. Many people get into this mindset. They open an account with an online broker and end up losing their hard earned money. Stock Trading is a get rich slow process. Money can be made, but it takes time. Most important, and I can not stress this enough, it takes education.

Before you even consider opening an account educate yourself by reading books, and developing a trading strategy. Do not get involved with the stock market without doing this first. The market is filled with hungry sharks looking to take your money from you. And take your money they will if you go into this blindly.

This website will help you get the education you need. Have a look around, there are many resources here to help you get started, and to help you succeed with your online stock trading.

Matter and Electricity

Force Fields: A Physics E&M Primer for Electronic Students. This free physics eBook teaches the basics of electricity and Magnetism. Get it now!
Electricity is a physical phenomena involving positive and negative charge. When these charges are in motion they may produce heat, light and magnetism. When charges are not in motion, static electricity can manifests itself as a force such as clothes clinging to each other when they are removed from a dryer.
A simple stationary system of a single positive ion and a single negative ion (or electron) separated by large distance with respect to their size ( a meter for example) will have a E field associated with them. Along the axis connecting the two ions the E vector points directly from the positive ion towards the negative ion. At this theoretical point in time there is no H field. The E field will cause the charge particles to move towards each other. This relative motion of positive and negative charge is the simplest example of current. Associated with this tiny current a magnetic or H field will exist. The motion of the positive charge will be in the direction of the E field and the negative charge will move in the opposite direction of the E field. Current by definition flows in the direction of the E field. It follows that positive charge moves in the direction of current and negative charge moves opposite to the current.

About Domain Names

What is a Domain Name?

A domain is a division of the Internet. Each domain is owned by a particular organisation, although some organisations own many different domains. For practical purposes, companies use unique domain names to make their websites easier to remember. The last three letters in a domain name are used to designate what type of organisation will be using a given domain (e.g. ".com" refers to a commercial interest ".gov" is the domain type for government organisations). A domain name remains the property of the owning entity until they stop paying the annual fee for its use or sell it to another organisation for a ridiculously inflated price...aah, capitalism.

What is a URL?

"Uniform Resource Locator" URLs are the textual or numerical addresses of specific pieces of information on the Internet. In order to access a web page, for instance, one must know the URL that corresponds with that particular page. Entering a URL to view a website is very much like dialling a telephone number to reach a company or individual.

What are Top Level and Second Level Domain Names?

TLDs are the names at the top of the DNS naming hierarchy. They appear in domain names as the string of letters following the last (rightmost) ".", such as "com" in "google.com". The administrator for a TLD controls what second-level names are recognized in that TLD. The administrators of the "root domain" or "root zone" control what TLDs are recognized by the DNS. Commonly used TLDs include .com, .net, .biz, .org, .info etc.

What are Subdomains?

Subdomain is a way to divide your site into sections with short and easy to remember names. For example, the client area portion of this site is https://manage.mdwebhosting.com.au/execute/base/listDomains

25 tips for relationship success

What's the key to successful relationships? Here, Susan Quilliam reveals the simple things you need to know to deepen your partnership and make your relationship work

1. Without quality time, your relationship will not survive. Carve out at least half an hour a night, and at least one day a month when you the two of you spend time exclusively together.

2. You will both need security, comfort. A good relationship is built on compromise and a great deal of give and take on both sides.

3. Keep your dependence and independence in balance. Tell and show your partner how much you need him, but don't cling, as that can make your partner feel trapped.

4. Encourage him to listen to you, by showing appreciation when he does. By the same token, show interest when he talks to you. Be aware that most men aren't mentally programmed for conversation in the way women are. They need more silence and internal time.

5. Make him appreciate you. Don't wait for a spontaneous compliment, but say something good about yourself and ask for his agreement.

6. Teach him, preferably early in your relationship, exactly how to give you a fail-safe orgasm because it's unlikely he'll find out alone. If you don't yet know yourself, find out.

7. Learn to do the one thing that is most likely to restore good feeling in your relationship - giving your partner a genuine, loving and approving smile.

8.Often those subtle quirks that first attracted you to your partner can, with time, turn around and become toe-curlingly annoying habits. Learn to love him, warts and all.

9. Hidden resentments poison a relationship; so if something bothers you, say it. Remember that while men are wary of emotional conversations, they love to find solutions. Express your problem and then ask him to help you find the answer.

10. Learn that punishing your partner won't work. It may make you feel better to give him a hard time, but it will actually make him dig his heels in more. A better tactic is to reward the things you like and ignore what you don't like.

11. Money is the number one cause of couple conflict. For a relationship to work, you need to address your finances and work out a budget. You could also read Stop Fighting About Money by Corinne Sweet (Hodder & Stoughton,£6.99)

12. If the domestic work is not divided fairly between you, it will cause friction in your relationship. Make a list of the domestic tasks, talk it through with your partner and mobilise the whole family, your partner included, to share the work.

13. If you have children, involve your partner as much as possible with the childcare - even if you feel he's not as good as it at you are. It's important to present a united front to your children.

14. Sort out your sex life. The sex may ebb and flow over the years, but if sex starts going downhill, don't just accept it. As soon as you notice a slide, question why and then work at bringing the passion back.

15. Don't assume you won't be tempted to have an affair as almost everyone is. You need to learn to resist. If you do stray, don't feel it spells the end of your relationship. Most couples recover, particularly from a one-night-stand, and often find that unrooting the cause of the affair helps them to get even closer. So, you need to learn to resist. But don't think that an affair is the end of everything.

16. Remember that boredom typically covers up anger. If you feel bored with him, ask yourself what you're angry about.

17. Be aware that men generally feel overwhelmed by emotion more than women do. If he's angry or tearful, half an hour's 'unflooding' time to himself will help get his balance back and make him more able to interact positively with you.

18. Learn how to argue well. The trick is to never say anything that you wouldn't want to hear said to you. For extra help, read my book, Stop Arguing Start Talking (Vermilion, £6.99).

19. Research suggests you need five positive experiences to erase the memory of one negative experience. So give five kind words for each bitchy comment. Give five hugs for each cold shoulder.

20. Learn how to negotiate. Each of you states what you want, then both of you work together to find a way forward. Read, Getting to Yes by Roger Fisher (Arrow, £8.99).

21. Accept the things that won't change. Some characteristics about your partner are there for life - and you have to face that.

22. Learn to forgive. If you know you will never forgive your partner over something important, then give him - and yourself - a break and start again, with someone else.

23. Realise that the two of you will shift and change over the years. So, even if you think you understand him, or believe you have agreements sorted, check regularly - at least once a year - to make sure that neither of you has changed your mind.

24. Know when to leave. If your life aims are incompatible, there are heavy drugs or violence around, or if there is consistently more pain than pleasure, then walk before the relationship destroys you.

25. Don't think that going to counselling equals failure. It can turn a bad relationship around. It can turn an average relationship into a brilliant one. Contact Relate on 0845 456 1310 for more information.

Home Business Ideas

What can YOU do working from home

We'll take it you've already tried the various work from home ads, considered envelope stuffing, telephone answering services etc., and have had your baptism of fire sending off cheques for £15, or £50, to some millionaire who's promised to share his secrets with you.

And you've figured that none of that works. Well, you've come to the one place on the net that won't ask you for a penny to explain how you can make a million.

If you belong to the generation that does not believe that the world owes you a living, and you're willing to work for your daily bread, why work for somebody else? Here's a collection of ideas of what you can do at home working for YOU - start your own business!

1. Running a website or a web based business. No! You do not need to be an expert in anything web related. You don't even need to know a lot about computers or how to build/manage websites. The trick is to identify what exactly you are good at, what you like doing, and open your mind to ways you can make money out of it. Or find someone who's already done it and buy him out. Buying a website.

2. Writing articles for other websites. Again, no special skills required. You don't need to be a published author, you don't even need to be good at writing! You can be stumped by spelling, perplexed by punctuations, and absolutely grim at Grammar but you can still make a living by writing (Yes, it's not all articles. There's demand for things like putting together useful resources, browsing through various websites in a particular niche and compiling a list of the best ones, collecting phone numbers off various sites in a particular industry and building a directory, and various other opportunities that don't require a PhD in English Lit).

3. Buying and selling products you are familiar with on auction websites like eBay and QXL - from doll houses to motorcycle spares.

4. Converting your hobbies or skills into a business from home (which may or may not use the internet). Some examples:

- Genealogy

- Pet Grooming/Minding

- Pottery/Painting/Other Craft Work/Teaching Craft Classes

- Knitting, Needlework, Alteration Services

- Baking/Cooking/Teaching Cooking

- Recording/Editing/Archiving of Photos/Music/Video

- Child Care, Teaching/Tutoring

- Reading (proofreading)

- Languages (translating)

Put your hobby/skill to work for you....

Business Opportunities5. Other local opportunities: Apart from hobbies and skills there may be openings in your local area for a particular type of service that is not currently being met. And, the laws of supply and demand dictate that if there's no competition people are likely to be willing to pay you a high price for your services. Some ideas:

- House/Office Cleaning

- House Minding

- Door to door leaflet/local paper/coupon distribution

- Window Cleaning

6. Virtual Assistant opportunities: A VA is described as an independent entrepreneur providing administrative,
creative and/or technical services from the comfort of their own homes/home-offices. There are several organisations on the web catering for and advising VAs. Like this one. And work seems to be plentiful.

COMPUTER RANDOM ACCESS MEMRORY(RAM)

The amount of RAM you use is dependent on the purpose that you want to use it for. Olderversions of Windows and Linux will run comfortably, though slowly at times, on 128 MB.Some newer operating systems such as Windows XP require 256MB of RAM to runcomfortably. Many people now have 512 MB or more for better performance. Users of moderngames and graphics software, or people who may wish to host Internet services such as a Website, may want 1 GB or more.Another thing to consider when choosing the amount of RAM for your system is your graphicscard. Most motherboard-integrated graphics chips and PCI Express graphics cards marketedwith the "Turbo Cache" feature will use system memory to store information related torendering graphics; this system memory is generally not available at all to the operating system. On average, these graphics processors will use between 16MB and 128MB of system memoryfor rendering purposes. The actual type of RAM you will need will depend on the motherboard and chipset you get. Most current motherboards use DDR (Double Data Rate) RAM. The Intel 915/925 chipsets useDDR2 RAM. Chipsets that use dual-channel memory require you to use two identical (in termsof size and speed) sticks of RAM. Your RAM should usually operate at the same clock speedas the CPU's Front Side Bus (FSB). Your motherboard may not be able to run RAM slowerthan the FSB, and using RAM faster than the FSB will simply have it run at the same speed asyour FSB. Buying low-latency RAM will help with overclocking your FSB, which can be ofuse to people who want to get more speed from their system. If you are upgrading from an existing computer, it is best to check with a user group to see ifyour machine requires specific kinds of RAM. Many computer OEMs, such as Gateway andHP, require custom RAM, and generic RAM available from most computer stores may causecompatibility problems in such systems.RAM have different bandwidths, ie 400, 533, 600, 733, 800, the current trend is moving fromDDR2-400 RAM to DDR2-533 RAM as it is more efficient. Higher end models are veryexpensive unless you find it worth the investment.Labeling of RAMRAM are labelled by its Memory Size (In MB) and clockspeed (or bandwidth).•SDRAM (Synchronous Dynamic RAM) is labeled by its clock speed in megahertz (MHz). Forexample, PC133 RAM runs at 133MHz. SDRAM is nearly obsolete as nearly all motherboardshave withdrawn support for SDRAM. It is now superceded by the more efficient DDR RAM.•128MB SD-133 = 128MB PC133 RAM•DDR RAM can be labeled in two different ways. It can be labeled by approximate bandwidth;as an example, 400MHz-effective DDR RAM has approximately 3.2GB/s of bandwidth, so it iscommonly labeled as PC3200. It can also be labeled by its effective clock speed; 400MHzeffective DDR RAM is also known as DDR-400. There is also DDR and DDR2 labelled as PCand PC2.•256MB DDR-400 = 256MB PC 3200 RAM•256MB DDR2-400 = 256MB PC2 3200 RAMDDR RAM has two versions DDR (also DDRI) and DDR2 (or DDRII)•DDR supports DDR-100, DDR-200, DDR-300, DDR-400 (mainstream) and DDR-533 (rare)•DDR2 supports DDR-400, DDR-533 (mainstream) and rare/expensive DDR-600, DDR-733,DDR-800, DDR-933, DDR-1066

COMPUTER SCIENCe

Computer Science
Computer science (CS) spans the range from theory through programming to cutting-edge development of computing solutions. Computer science offers a foundation that permits graduates to adapt to new technologies and new ideas. The work of computer scientists falls into three categories: a) designing and building software; b) developing effective ways to solve computing problems, such as storing information in databases, sending data over networks or providing new approaches to security problems; and c) devising new and better ways of using computers and addressing particular challenges in areas such as robotics, computer vision, or digital forensics (although these specializations are not available in all computer science programs). Most computer science programs require some mathematical background.
Let us consider what is involved in a career path in each area.
Career Path 1: Designing and implementing software. This refers to the work of software development which has grown to include aspects of web development, interface design, security issues, mobile computing, and so on. This is the career path that the majority of computer science graduates follow. While a bachelor’s degree is generally sufficient for entry into this kind of career, many software professionals return to school to obtain a terminal master’s degree. (Rarely is a doctorate involved.) Career opportunities occur in a wide variety of settings including large or small software companies, large or small computer services companies, and large organizations of all kinds (industry, government, banking, healthcare, etc.). Degree programs in software engineering also educate students for this career path.
Career Path 2: Devising new ways to use computers. This refers to innovation in the application of computer technology. A career path in this area can involve advanced graduate work, followed by a position in a research university or industrial research and development laboratory; it can involve entrepreneurial activity such as was evident during the dot-com boom of the 1990s; or it can involve a combination of the two.
Career Path 3: Developing effective ways to solve computing problems. This refers to the application or development of computer science theory and knowledge of algorithms to ensure the best possible solutions for computationally intensive problems. As a practical matter, a career path in the development of new computer science theory typically requires graduate work to the Ph.D. level, followed by a position in a research university or an industrial research and development laboratory.
Career Path 4: Planning and managing organizational technology infrastructure. This is the type of work for which the new information technology (IT) programs explicitly aim to educate students.
Career paths 2 and 3 are undenably in the domain of computer science graduates. Career paths 1 and 4 have spawned the new majors in software engineering and information technology, respectively, and information systems graduates often follow Career path 1, too. Computer scientists continue to fill these positions, but programs in software engineering, information technology, and information systems offer alternative paths to these careers

10 Real Life Diet Tips

This interesting article addresses some of the key issues regarding Life Diet Tips. A careful reading of this material could make a big difference in how you think about Life Diet Tips.
I trust that what you’ve read so far has been informative. The following section should go a long way toward clearing up any uncertainty that may remain.
healthy-eating-vegetables
Are you bored of diet tips distributed by somebody with evidently inexhaustible income and time? For a few of us, it might simply not be concrete to spend half of our Sunday cooking carefully allotted meals for the balance of the week, or financially practicable to purchase entirely our meals prepackaged in merely the correctly portions. And on that point are those of us who cringe at the dreamt up weighing food to reach ‘optimum portion sizes’. Here are ten actual life diet tips for the rest of us.
1. Dining out? Restaurant portions tend to be tremendous, and whenever it’s on the plate, we tend to consume it. Whenever it’s potential, arrange from the kid’s menu, whereportions are a lot of sensibly sized.
2. Maintain healthy snacks approximately and well available. A bowl of fruit on the kitchen table, a container of celery or carrot sticks in the refrigerator, or a pair of pop-open may of fruit salad in your desk operant will facilitate you grab for something healthy while those 1st hunger pains start. In additional words, you will be more expected to grab something low-calorie and good for you if it’s easy to eat.
3. Replace frozen vegetables for canned. Canned veggies tend to be richly in sodium, which you do not demand, and low in actual nutrition, which you serve. Purchase economy size bags with zip closures to get in comfortable to pour out a single serving for a meal.
