Derek Hough is reportedly vying for a full time role on The X Factor.
The professional dancer has already landed a spot as Cheryl Cole’s assistant during the judges houses rounds, but he is now said to be pushing for Brian Friedman’s old job title ‘Creative Director,’ after Friedman was promoted to ‘Creative Producer.’
A TV insider told The Daily Star: “Derek wants to be creative director, which is the title Brian Friedman had.
“And he has fixed himself up with hot shot LA agents Creative Artists to negotiate a deal for him.
“But Talkback Thames has told him they can’t afford to pay him creative director money.
“They have offered him a job as a choreographer and that’s it.
“Cheryl thinks Derek is massively talented and wants him to play a big part in the series.”
Cheryl and Derek have become close since Chez’s marriage to Ashley Cole broke down earlier this year. The pair are currently holidaying in LA, where they will soon record the judges houses rounds of The X Factor. It is thought that Nicole Scherzinger will also be assisting Cheryl on choosing her acts for the show’s live finals.
