Nokia has revealed that what is the Nokia Surge for the US will go to Europe and the rest of the world as the Nokia 6760 Slide. The repacked 6760 Slide actually has one major difference compared to the Surge, although with QWERTY keypads, avid SMS/email users are still the focus on both the devices. Apart from the same 2.4 inch QVGA display, microSD support, Bluetooth, A-GPS, FM radio with RDS, and Symbian S60 3.2 release operating system, the Slide features a 3.2 megapixel camera (compared to the 2mpx lens on the Surge) and European 3G connectivity with support for GSM 850/900/1800/1900 and HSDPA 2100 networks. The Nokia 6760 Slide will be available in the third quarter of this year across Europe and Asia at a price of 199 Euros (about $285).

Nokia 5800i Gets Approved by the FCC
Another version of the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic has been approved by the FCC. The 5800i is the version I am talking about and it's probably going to be headed to China. The 5800i is going to be pretty similar to the regular 5800 version. In terms of features you can expect it to offer you WCDMA 900/2100MHz,quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and WiFi connectivity. That WiFi is a little strange for a Chinese considering that we've heard lots of rumors about the WiFi-less iPhone made for China. Or should we assume this 5800i is simply a refresh of the 5800? Are we getting that capacitive screen that was rumored a while ago?

Nokia E72 Gets Official, Expected for a September Release
Finally, the Nokia E72 has been officially announced after Nokia Conversations, a blog run by Nokia, accidentally posted a promo video of it on YouTube just a few days back. This smartphone seems to be quite similar to the E71 in terms of design, but of course, this brings quite a few upgraded features. This includes an optical trackpad instead of the usual d-pad, which should then make panning and scrolling more spontaneous; the 3.5mm audio jack is also placed on top, unlike the E71 where it is placed on the side. There’s also a 5-megapixel camera with flash, and it comes complete with HSDPA 10.2Mbps and HSUPA 2.0Mbps, Wi-Fi, A-GPS, QVGA display, and 250MB of internal memory, expandable to 16GB via microSDHC card support. It is also said that this Symbian S60 3rd Edition device allows users to “set up instant messaging (IM) accounts provided by Nokia Messaging direct from the home screen.” This sleek and slim Nokia E72 is said to be available in the late 3rd quarter of the year, probably sometime in September, and it is expected to retail at about $486.
